From today’s social media, newspapers, magazines, Radio, TV, and from our Churches, I hear much about the wrongs committed by our forefathers here in our great nation we call America.
What they did or did not do, I personally have no control over or was I living or even thought of at that time. I can and will do my best to right the wrongs, to learn from the past wrongs of our Nation.
We must move on in thought, word, and deed. Dwelling in the past serves no purpose other than to drive the stake of discontent deeper, make the building of bridges harder, and destroying community.
In my reading and prayer time I opened to:
Matthew 6:14-15 14“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (New King James)
Or:
Matthew 6:14-15 “In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part. (The Message)
I leave you The Lord’s Prayer from The Message as a thought to ponder.
